To deal with this, the game implements unique gift items that you can use during the puzzle to cause some kind of effect. One criticism I could see being leveled is that the puzzles are the only way to progress the game (completing the "dates" allows the player to earn hearts, which, once a certain amount are achieved, allows the player to sleep with a character). They remain challenging, without detracting from the overall enjoyment due to difficulty. The game's puzzles are extremely enjoyable, and, depending on the location, have beautiful views and music.
